Lol, when I read the title for this chapter I immediately thought of a reunion for the Hawke sisters and nothing else! Afraid I'm a bit too obsessed with Bethany... 
I can sympathize with Aveline only up to a certain point here. I bet there is a lot of trust among the guards considering that everyday they are out there risking their neck for the city with only their fellows to help out. It's expected a guard is unlikely to believe claims of a crime committed by another guard, but Aveline is the captain and should know better. Especially considering she got in charge after the former captain was found to be a criminal himself... Some serious investigation in the elves' accusations should have been carried out, but then again if Aveline did that there would not be a plot point to make sure the Arishok gets annoyed enough to attack the city!
Looking forward to read what will happen in the Keep!
